Want To Play In Band?
Once a month, we host a Jam session for current students and their friends to gather together and work on band material under the guidance and supervision of a real touring musician. These Jams will be held at different professional rehearsal facilities around Los Angeles and are a unique opportunity for students to meet other instrumentalists and practice their lesson material in a band format. Each Jam will have a curated list of songs and short ideas catering to those students registered. These are open to current students as well as their friends!
Come Join The Next SoundLife Jam...
Q: Can I Bring A Friend?
A: Absolutely. Everyone is welcome until registration is full.
Q: Who should attend?
A: These Jams are a perfect opportunity for students to work on lesson material in a band setting. Any student preparing to perform in our next Student Showcase should take full advantage of these opportunities. This is also perfect for students looking to meet other musicians and for students hoping to get their friends involved in music.
Q: Will there be food provided?
A: Yes, pizza and soft drinks will be provided for jammers.
Q: Is there parking on site?
A: Yes, parking is available at the rehearsal location.
Q: Should parents stay for the Jam?
A: As you can imagine, these rooms get loud and crowded. Parents are welcome to stay in the Jam or come and go as they please. There is also a waiting room with coffee and snacks.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Registration for the Jam is just $30 per student, which includes the space rental, pizza, soft drinks, and our instructor. Students who are enrolled in the Performance Pro Package will have monthly Jams already included in their prepaid tuition.
Q: Do I have to pay now?
A: SoundLife students on the Independent Artist Package can pay now or add the registration fee to their next invoice. Registrants who are not SoundLife students are required to pay up front in order to reserve their spot.
Q: Do I have to register for an online account to come to the jam?
A: No. If you are not a current SoundLife student or you are signing up friends, you can register by emailing us with the names of each participant, their instrument, and their experience level. Click here to email us now.
Q: Is is okay to just show up?
A: Please call the morning of the Jam to check for space in the class. We will do everything we can to accommodate every student.
Q: What should I prepare?
A: We will generate a list of songs based on popular demand and what students are preparing for the next concert. Students do not need to know the whole song. Any little bit will be fine to start playing!
