Community + Connection
The experience of playing together in a fun, low-key setting is a cornerstone of the SoundLife program. Not only does sharing the musical experience with others help to solidify skills being learned, but social engagement is the most powerful key to building true confidence.
All SoundLife Jams are conducted in a group setting under the guidance of a SoundLife teacher who is a professional gigging musician, and are held at notable rehearsal facilities in Los Angeles. Jams are a great opportunity for students to meet other players, practice their lesson material in a social format, and hang out with friends. Students learn proper jam etiquette, including how to listen, improvise, and compose on the spot.
Jams are open to all current students as well as their friends - so it’s a great time come have fun with us and check out what we do!

How Does it Work (FAQ)
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely, as long as every person attending is registered. All students and their friends are welcome until registration is full.
Who should attend?
These Jams are a perfect opportunity for students to work on lesson material in a band setting. Any student preparing to perform in our next Student Showcase should take full advantage of these opportunities. This is also perfect for students looking to meet other musicians or form a band and for students hoping to get their friends involved in music.
Will there be food provided?
Yes, pizza and soft drinks will be provided for jammers.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, parking is available at the rehearsal location.
Should parents stay for the Jam?
As you can imagine, these rooms get loud and crowded. Parents are welcome to stay in the Jam or come and go as they please. There is also a waiting room with coffee and snacks.
How much does it cost?
Registration for the Jam is just $30 per attendee, which includes the space rental, pizza, soft drinks, and our teacher. Jam registration is already included for Performance Pro students!
Do I have to pay now?
SoundLife students not enrolled in our Performance Pro Package: Jam registration fees will be billed to their account.
Friends of SoundLife students: Friends of SoundLife students who want to get in on the fun at the next Jam will receive a special link to register.
Is is okay to just show up?
Because space is limited, it is unfortunately not okay to show up if you have not registered with us. Please call the morning of the Jam to check for space in the class. We will do everything we can to accommodate every registrant.
What should I prepare?
We will generate a list of songs and topics based on popular demand and what students are preparing for the next concert. Students do not need to know the whole song. Any little bit will be fine to start playing!
