Congratulations to James on being selected as our June 2025 Student of the Month!
We’re thrilled to spotlight James Parmet as our Student of the Month! James has been a dedicated student at SoundLife since June of 2022, and in that time, he has grown into an incredibly skilled guitarist under the guidance of our talented instructor, Lorenzo Taddei. His commitment to his craft is evident, having participated in numerous Showcases, each time raising the bar higher and higher. James, along with a handful of other advanced students, has consistently pushed our team to new limits with his immense growth and dedication.
One of the most exciting aspects of James’ musical journey is his participation in our All-Star House Band at each Showcase. This special band, composed of session musicians and SoundLife instructors, performs alongside students, who have the opportunity to pick any song they want. James has never shied away from choosing songs that challenge the house band, always encouraging them to rise to the occasion. He’s tackled complex instrumental pieces like Metallica’s “Sanitarium,” Polyphia’s “Neurotica,” “G.O.A.T,” and “Goose,” and Plini’s “Sunset” featuring Cory Wong and Tim Henderson. These pieces demand incredible technique, intricate time signatures, and immense precision, and James handles them with confidence.
This year, James also stepped in with Sunday, a group coached by SoundLife and also led by Lorenzo, for a special event. His ability to seamlessly join the band and contribute to their performance was a testament to his versatility and professionalism. It's clear that James is not only a dedicated student but a valuable collaborator, always ready to support and challenge those around him.
This Saturday, June 7 2025, James will take on “Playing God” by Polyphia at Showcase XXV, a new feat we can’t wait to hear. James' journey has truly been one of growth, curiosity, and expression. He’s reached a space where confidence and creativity intertwine, taking risks and exploring new musical landscapes. This is the place we hope all of our students can reach—where boundaries disappear and the joy of expression takes center stage.
We are incredibly proud of James and his continued development as a musician. His passion, commitment, and willingness to take on new challenges are an inspiration to both his peers and his instructors. Keep up the amazing work, James!
