Congratulations to Molly on being selected as our July 2025 Student of the Month!

This month, we are thrilled to spotlight Molly, an 8-year-old powerhouse who has been part of the SoundLife family since Fall 2024. Under the guidance of her coach Christa—and with the unwavering support of her Mother Alicia, Father, acclaimed session drummer Marc Slutsky—Molly recently accomplished one of the biggest milestones for any young musician: her first live performance.

On June 7, 2025, Molly took the stage at Showcase XXV, performing Someday from the show Zombies. Preparing for this debut wasn’t just a musical challenge—it was a full collaborative effort between teacher, parent, and student that showcased the best of what our community stands for.

Marc created a custom playback track for Molly, layering in professional-grade drums and essential slate cues to guide her through the transitions. Her keyboard was color-coded with stickers to help her remember hand placement, and recognizing Molly had never used a microphone on stage, Christa and Marc booked rehearsal time at Mates Rehearsal Studios in North Hollywood. There, Molly had the opportunity to practice in a real stage environment—an experience that paid off in full.

Her Showcase performance? Absolutely unforgettable. Molly delivered a confident, expressive performance that not only marked her first time on stage but set a new bar for what a first performance can look like.

We selected Molly as Student of the Month not only for her courage and incredible hard work, but also to celebrate what’s possible when students, teachers, and parents are aligned. When we work together, great things happen—and Molly’s journey is living proof.
