When you meet Ell Burgos, you immediately sense the passion that drives everything she does — a love for music that’s as infectious as it is inspiring. A professional bassist, songwriter, and educator, Ell has built her career around helping others discover their own creative voice and confidence through music.
Originally from Peru, Ell made her way to Los Angeles to pursue her Bachelor’s in Music Composition and Scoring for Visual Media at the Musicians Institute, where she also minored in Sound Engineering and Music Production. That combination of artistry and technical skill shines through in every lesson she teaches.
Over the past several years, Ell has taught more than 300 private and group lessons across guitar, piano, bass, and vocals, while directing student showcases and ensemble performances. Her teaching style blends structure and creativity — balancing technical mastery with self-expression, ensuring every student feels both challenged and inspired.
Beyond the classroom, Ell is a seasoned live and session bassist, performing with artists such as America’s Got Talent finalist Lily Meola, K-pop star AleXa, and TikTok sensation Roe Kapara. She’s toured nationally, performed in arenas like the Staples Center, and even co-wrote music recognized by the Hollywood in Media Awards.
But what truly sets Ell apart is her approach to teaching: she sees music as a vehicle for empowerment. “Music gives students the courage to express themselves,” she says. “My goal is to help them find their sound — and the confidence that comes with it.”
Parents love Ell’s ability to meet students where they are, encouraging progress without pressure and transforming practice time into something students actually look forward to. Whether she’s preparing a young musician for their first performance or mentoring a teen ready to join a band, Ell knows how to make learning music exciting, personal, and fun.
When she’s not teaching or performing, you can find Ell composing, producing, or sharing behind-the-scenes moments from her musical adventures. Her work is a powerful reminder that great teachers don’t just teach songs — they inspire confidence, creativity, and connection.
