Teacher Feature: Zion Jeng

Pianist, Producer & Music Director

"I do not intend to stand out, I intend to serve the music I'm making. My journey is about creating a comfortable space where artists can freely express themselves."

What Zion Teaches: Piano (Classical, Pop & Jazz), Music Production (Logic Pro, Ableton, ProTools), Music Theory, Composition, and Songwriting.

About Zion

Zion Jeng is a powerhouse in the Los Angeles music scene, recognized with an O-1 visa for extraordinary artistic ability. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Zion was raised with a deep appreciation for musical legends like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Timberlake—influences that shaped his versatile approach to both performance and production.

He holds a Bachelor of Music from Tainan National University of the Arts and furthered his contemporary training at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. This dual background in rigorous classical piano and cutting-edge electronic music production allows him to bridge the gap between traditional technique and modern innovation.

Artistic Philosophy & Career

Legendary Venues & Global Festivals: Zion has graced the stages of iconic LA venues like Whisky a Go Go, The Viper Room, and The Black Rose. On the national stage, he has performed as a keyboardist at major festivals including SXSW (2024 & 2026) and BottleRock (2025).

Collaborative Production: As a producer and music director, Zion prioritizes the "power of collaboration." He has worked on over 30 professional projects, including producing the EP Vertigo for artist Izora and leading various award-winning a cappella ensembles. He values respect for an artist's vision above all else.

Teaching Approach: Zion believes in persistence and consistency. He encourages his students to push out of their comfort zones—just as he did when moving from Taiwan to Hollywood. His lessons focus on building a solid foundation through transcription and theory while fostering a student's unique creative voice.
